About John Mayer
John Clayton Mayer was born in in Bridgeport, Connecticut. After watching Michael J. Fox’s guitar performance in Back to the Future, Mayer’s father rented a guitar for him. Mayer dropped out of Berklee College of Music and moved to Atlanta where he built a reputation through performance. In March 2000, his appearance at South by Southwest led to him being signed by Columbia Records. John Mayer later recorded Room for Squares which won him a Grammy Award. He went on to win another Grammy with his album, Continuum.
